By: Matt Rychener, CEO, Sara's Garden For over a year, we have met and talked with numerous schools and community leaders regarding the tremendous need for additional special needs programs and services in the Toledo area. After considerable planning (and even more prayer), Sara's Garden is excited to announce the addition of a new Springfield campus for New Horizons Academy, our non-public, charter school for children with special learning needs. This new facility, planned to open the fall of 2019, will allow us to better serve the children, families and partner schools in Lucas County and the greater surrounding Toledo area. While this is an exciting opportunity, it is also a tremendous leap of faith and not something we are taking lightly. The focus for this new campus will initially be centered on early childhood intervention (Pre-K through 2nd grade) and autistic high school students struggling to make the transition from school into the work force. These students will find a home at NHA and venture out into the community with job coaches and newly developed life and work skills. Stay tuned for additional announcements regarding enrollment, services, staffing and an upcoming open house.
