Whitehouse, OH… The Bittersweet Animal Therapy program participants will be showing goats and miniature horses at the Wood County and Lucas County Fairs this summer. The animal therapy program at Bittersweet Farms provides meaningful and therapeutic jobs for individuals with autism. Two participants in the program have been preparing for the county fairs by working with the barn animals all year, including feeding, watering, and grooming. Bittersweet Participant Matt Pierson will be showing at the Lucas County Fair for the third year in the row. This year he will be working with Bittersweet Volunteer Scott Mitchell to show one of Bittersweet’s goats. Mr. Mitchell has been working with Mr. Pierson to learn goat anatomy and showmanship. Mr. Pierson will be showing his goat on Wednesday, July 11. Mr. Pierson says, “I’m excited to work with Scott and learn about the goats! I love working with the animals at Bittersweet. It’s very calming and fun.” Bittersweet Participant Beth Meyer will also be showing at the Wood County Fair this year. This will be the second year in a row she will be showing one of Bittersweet’s miniature horses. About Bittersweet, Inc.
