Duties:
Duties and Responsibilities Providing customers with technology that can help them operate more efficiently is at the heart of the Technical Consultant position. The candidate should have a passion for taking responsibility for turning ideas into solutions. Core responsibilities taken on by the Technical Consultant: Assess Technical Operations –Technical Consultants must have a solid grasp of the problem that needs to be solved in order to choose the appropriate software and hardware. By talking & engaging with clients, they learn about expectations and desired results. Design and Test Technology – Using their array of knowledge and coding ability, the Technical Consultant visualizes and designs what the customer wants & needs. Technical Consultants often do not do most of the development work, instead they lead and provide guidance to a technical team and assure their solution meets client needs and deliver on the desired results. Implement New Technology – Once the Technical Consultant determines or creates the solution, they do the necessary setup for the customer and work out any kinks that may arise. Additionally, they may design manuals for the employees as well as teach them to use the new technology. If unexpected problems come up over time, they may be called upon to troubleshoot. Business Management – Top Tier Technical Consultants look to grow relationships with clients and expand engagement. Superb interpersonal and leadership skills are vital for this role, as good teamwork is important for our business success. Suitable candidates should also be excellent written and verbal communicators and possess the ability to identify opportunities for growth. Skills A strong technical background is necessary, and exceptional inductive and deductive reasoning skills certainly aid job performance. However, numerous other abilities can serve a Technical Consultant well. Among them are: Listening carefully to figure out what problem needs to be solved Communicating clearly so that even non-technical employees can understand what is being done or taught Enjoys talking with customers and is truly interested in building relationships Keeping clients updated so that they have an accurate assessment of costs and timeframe Thinking critically to analyze the pros and cons of solving a problem in a certain way Collaborates well with other professionals in the design team Strong development skills in .NET, SQL, Business Process Management tools.
Experience Required:
Education and Training A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, management information-systems, informatics or applicable years of direct technical consulting experience. Demonstrated experience leading a small team and interfacing with customers. Must be a US Citizen or legally able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Must be willing to travel to client sites. Approximately, 10% – 25% travel can be expected starting Spring 2021.
